chicago...part III

dropping in from our house in London to preview two more sessions from the Chicago series in July.  The last time I photographed the first family the twins were only a few weeks old and here they are today with yet another new sister I had the privilege of meeting.  Yes, that makes 6 new sisters I met and only 1 new brother!  I guess there was a bit of a girl baby boom going on in Chicago the past 3 years!!

and here is another young man I have been photographing since at least 2004.  It's always a pleasure to spend time together and draw out your clever personality!  Thanks to mom as well for her amazing ideas...

chicago...part II {the baby sister edition!}

I'm back with a few more from my fabulous weekend in Chicago as I round the final lap on all the editing.  I know everyone is saying this lately, but I seriously cannot believe how fast the summer has gone by!  We are on a plane back to London this Thursday already! 

I have to be short on words today as I have a few final sessions to finish (hopefully) before our departure, but had to take a few minutes to post a few favorite images.  If you can believe it, the following sessions all represent sessions where I had the pleasure of meeting 4 new sisters since my last time working with each of these families...

first off, I loved meeting the new baby sister of a little one I have been photographing since she was a newborn...I cannot believe the expressions, just too cute!

 

and yet another little sister I had yet to meet (I think she was born just after I moved from Chicago) but her brother and I go way back...I photographed him 4 times in just his first year!  So great to see you all again and meet you, little one. You guys are just amazing!


 

and a little peek-a-boo series that will make a fun storyboard...

 

My only indoor session of the weekend and did we need it!  I think it was nearly 100 degrees in the late afternoon on Thursday.  This little girl's mom was one of my very first clients way back in 2004 and I have photographed her older brother countless times.  I am forever grateful for your early encouragement and support!!  So thrilled to meet your beautiful baby girl...

 

and little sister #4...I cannot believe how much you remind me of your older sister at her last session.  The image below of you holding mom and dad hands and looking up is seriously one of my very favorite images of a 1-year-old!  It was wonderful to see the entire family again...

the chicago sessions...{part 1}

As I work my way through all the editing I wanted to give my clients a few sneak peeks!  As always, it's tough to pick just a few.  When I shoot during a session, I love to think about how all the images can be used together to be enjoyed as a complete set...either displayed together in a wall gallery or enjoyed in an album.  So here is my best attempt below at narrowing down just a few favorites....

The last time I saw this little boy he was under a year old!  Great to see you again little man and it was so wonderful to meet your sister~

 

The first time I photographed this little girl she was just a few weeks old.  We got together again at her first birthday and then again when she was two with her two older brothers.  So glad we had the chance to catch up again!

Have I mentioned yet that it was nearly 100 degrees on the day we took most of these photos!  I was so impressed at how well all the kids held up while I was seriously melting (I guess 10 months of cooler London weather has re-set my heat tolerance!)

and this was the first time I got to meet this sweet little 11-month old.  I have know her mom for years and it was sooo excited to see her again and finally meet her baby girl~
